Thank you Serco Foundation

A big heartfelt thank you to the Serco Foundation for a fantastic donation grant of £1000 to support the Ladywood Helpers and our work in Ladywood responding to the coronavirus crisis.

The Serco Foundation is global charitable trust supporting people and communities across the world, set up by the international outsourcing company Serco. In response to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the Foundation recently launched a Coronavirus Community Support Fund, and asked Serco employees (who number almost 60,000 worldwide) to nominate amazing groups and charities for grants.

The Ladywood Leisure Centre is part of Serco and a grant application for funding was kindly submitted by centre manager Dawn Page.

The Ladywood Leisure Centre in the heart of Ladywood has been at the heart of the Ladywood Helpers project throughout the coronavirus crisis since the UK lockdown began by generously allowing the Ladywood Helpers team to use the leisure centre as a hub to store our food pantry while closed due to the covid-19 crisis.

The use of the leisure centre has enabled us to accept fantastic donations from Morrisons including fresh meat, dairy and bread, share resources with our local foodbank (Birmingham Central Foodbank) work with the Hive in the Jewellery Quarter to deliver craft activity packs and easter eggs to over 90 families and more...

We cannot thank the Ladywood Leisure enough for the huge part they have played in supporting the Ladywood Helpers during the coronavirus pandemic.
